SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., May 25 (UPI) — The family of a San Bernardino woman killed in a shootout with police is speaking out after a day in which the public was shocked by the mass shooting.

Lauren Babbitt, 27, was shot in the head during a shootout on Monday in the city of Redlands, Calif.(CBS San Francisco)Lauren is survived by her mother, a brother, father, grandparents and a niece.

Babbitt’s family said on Tuesday that she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, niece-in-law and aunt who loved her family deeply.

Battles erupted in San Diego, where two men were arrested for allegedly firing on police officers.
